In October 2007, after many months of hard work and planning, three friends undertook a trek along the Long paddock in a replica Cobb & Co coach, to raise funds for breast cancer research.Chris O'Kane, Shane Mullins and Geoff Chamberlain built the coach, planned the journey and organised the fundraising events held along the route.The trek began in Echuca/Moama and followed the Cobb Highway north through Mathoura, Deniliquin, Booroorban, Hay, One Tree and Ivanhoe.

The Morocco Walk

It was late one afternoon when I received a phone call from the Manager from Morocco East Station. He had purchased some Merino Wethers at the Deniliquin sheep sale that morning and could I walk them out for him. So early the following day, I arrived at the sale yard complete with horse, dogs and a companion to help me through the town. I had rather a sinking sensation and I viewed these 1500 aging veterans that the Manager had bought. I was already getting the feeling that this was a job that I should not have taken on. However, it was too late to back out now.

'As a young girl growing up in Booligal NSW on the Lachlan River, Ada was the daughter of Jack and Herriot Robinson (Swinnerton). Ada was born 10 October 1883. Her family was Methodists and worshipped every Sunday. The priest and fellow [parishioners were invited to their home for afternoon tea. Sunday best outfits were worn accompanied with gloves and hats. The girls placed pinnies over their dresses after church to protect their clothing.

On September 10, 2002 we embarked on a three month experience of droving 3200 drought effected ewes on the long paddock between Booligal and Hay. It ended up being 10 months before anybody or animal returned back to Albermale, which is situated 130 kms west of Ivanhoe. We literally walked out and nature took over, leaving rippling sand, sticks and Emu feathers.
